Maybe you’re looking to work with a company remotely, or want to go freelance and try it your own way. In any case, we’ve made a list of graphic design jobs for companies as well as ideas for those who want an opportunity to work from home. Below are our favorite graphic design work from home jobs.

Remote graphic design jobs

Etsy Printable Seller

Etsy is a well known platform for people who want to sell homemade products including digital files and printables. If you think you could design templates, flyers, logos, birthday invitations, wedding signs, greeting cards, and more for customers –  check out selling printables and digital downloads on Etsy as a side hustle.

Learn how to sell Etsy printables as a side hustle here. This is a side hustle that a graphic designer could do from anywhere and it only costs 20 cents to get started with an Etsy shop and list your first product on Etsy. You would be surprised at how passive this side hustle can be once you get going.

Fiverr

Fiverr is a well known freelancing site where you can easily promote your services for the price you choose to companies or individuals looking to outsource work. It’s very simple and easy to sign up to: create your own profile as a graphic designer and create and publish several gigs of various work you’re able to offer. Once a potential client finds your gig, they place an order, you do their work and submit it, and then Fiverr releases the payment.

It’s a good platform to test your design skills and see if there is a market for what you produce.

Part time graphic design job ideas

If you’re not sure which company you’re interested in working with, consider going to freelance platforms and seeing what you can find. Here are some platform ideas where you can start searching:

Dribbble

Dribbble is a well known freelancing platform that publishes gigs for freelancers, specifically graphic designers. There they have an entire listing with various freelance graphic design remote jobs, as well as different one-off assignments that could help you get a feel of what you’re getting into. Some companies that regularly publish assignments are Google, Shopify, Slack and Airbnb. Why not check it out?

DesignHill.com

DesignHill is another good option for graphic design freelancers looking for some extra work. They offer options to participate in design contests as well as competitions with other designers for work. You also have the opportunity to promote your own design services and set your own price. Once a client finds your work and decides to hire you, DesignHill then charges the client in advance and you receive the transfer once the task is completed.

FlexJobs

Every day new freelancing jobs are posted on FlexJobs. They are searching for anything from full-time remote jobs to part-time, and even help freelancers search for jobs themselves. It’s a highly trusted job portal and a good place to get started as a freelance graphic designer.

Graphic Designer at Ultiworld

Ultiworld is currently looking for a part-time remote graphic designer. Requirements are “creative flair and versatility”, an up to date software, ability to work independently and good professionalism. Ultiworld is a news media organisation for disc sports, and do everything from deep reporting to video production. Your work would be used for social media, video, live production and more.

Entry level Graphic designer job ideas

If you’re new to the graphic design space and are considering becoming a work-from-home graphic designer, here are a few paths you can follow to test and build your skills.

Freelancer

Freelancer is a similar platform to Fiverr – it’s a good place to build up your portfolio and see whether clients are willing to pay for your work. It is a pretty competitive platform, but it’s worth testing. Like Fiverr, you have a profile with your services – the client approaches you with some work and Freelancer manages the payment. You’re able to set your own price depending on how much work you receive and the clients you’re taking on.

Working as a graphic designer is a great job to work from home – you can get paid well and make your creative juices flow all from the comfort of your own home. You have the option of applying directly to a company, but if you’re a beginner it may be smarter to go as a freelancer, build up your portfolio and then apply to work with companies. Test out these different options and see what works best for you!
