What are your favorite Elf on the Shelf ideas for kids?
Elf on the Shelf always manages to bring a bit of excitement, magic and humor leading up to many kids’ favorite holiday: Christmas! Playing around with Elf on the Shelf is easy for parents build up the excitement, and super fun for kids to find.
The Elf on the Shelf tradition started in 2005 through a book and elf doll. In the book, the Elf visits around every Thanksgiving or December 1st. Every day, the Elf comes and goes from the North Pole to report on how the children are behaving. Every morning, the Elf is in a new place of the house: in the fridge, on the toilet, writing messages on the mirror or hanging from odd places. The most important is that the Elf is not touched, so it doesn’t lose its Christmas magic. The Elf has a special name, and will return to its home on Christmas Eve.
