The best Minecraft birthday party ideas your kid will love!

When it comes to throwing the ultimate Minecraft birthday party, it’s about more than just the goodie bags and the decorations. When you say ultimate, it means you have to go all out. From the food to the games to the cake to the invitations, ultimate means everything needs to scream Minecraft.

Minecraft Birthday Invitations

The first thing that tells everyone you’re planning a Minecraft birthday party is the invitations.

If you want to make your own invitations, all you need is a catchy saying from Minecraft saying and some pixelated art. Minecraft is all about blocks, so when you’re picking fonts, choose a blocky font to convey your message.

Or you can go the easy route and buy your invites.

Creep on Over

Invited your guests to Creep on over with these Minecraft birthday party invitations. The cube forms are exactly what you’d expect from a Minecraft invitation. It will tell you guests exactly what to expect when they arrive. To find them, click here.

Grab Your Pickaxe

This invitation is another good way to go when you’re hosting a Minecraft party. Just make a note that pickaxes are not required. If you like these invitations, click here.

Minecraft Birthday Party Supplies

When the guests walk in, you want them to feel like they walked into a Minecraft land come to life. Luckily, there are plenty of decorations to choose from.

Birthday Party Pack

The birthday party pack is a great collection of all the supplies you need for a party including themed napkins, plates, and cups. The best part is that it’s a simple clean up afterwards! You can find them on Amazon if you click here.

Minecraft Table Cloth

Not only does this keep the table clean from all those sticky hands, it also goes with the theme. Plus, like the paper plates and napkins, it’s easy to clean up afterwards. You can find them here on Amazon.

Creeper Party Balloons

Southern Revivals shows you how to make Creeper balloons that are the perfect accent to the room. All you need is some green rubber balloons (you can find them here on Amazon) and some black felt.

Minecraft Blocks

Another option is to simply create some Minecraft Blocks. All you need is some old boxes and some Minecraft wrapping paper (you can find that here on Amazon). Then you wrap and stack.

Minecraft Birthday Banner

You can finish off the décor with this birthday banner. Just click here and you can buy it here on Amazon.

Minecraft Birthday Party Games

What kid’s birthday party is complete without some games? There are games and crafts that you can buy that the kids can play or you can create your own. There are a few of both suggested below.

Minecraft Paper Crafts

If you’re looking for an arts and crafts option for your party, look no further than this Hostile Mob set. These items are made of stiff cardboard and just need to be folded. Have the kids put them together and then let them play.

You can find them here on Amazon.

Minecraft Card Game

This building card game starts with mining resources and then you start building. It’s best for kids 8 to 15 years of age. The card game is made by Mattel and ranked 4.5 out of 5 stars on Amazon. If you’re interested, you can find it here on Amazon.

Minecraft Shooting Practice

The blog Housing a Forest teaches you how to make some awesome targets and then set up a mini shooting range for your Minecrafters. If you need green tape, you can find it here on Amazon.

This one hinges on having some Nerf guns so the kids can shoot without hurting each other. If you want to go the extra mile, get some electrical tape and pixelate your Nerf guns too.

Pin the Tail on the Pig

It’s a twist on the old school game Pin the Tail on the Donkey. In Pin the Tail on the Pig you have a pig instead of a donkey and a homemade Minecraft head instead of a blindfold. Momma D and Da Boyz shows you just how it’s done.

Farm Animal Scavenger Hunt

It’s a scavenger hunt with a Minecraft twist. Hide farm animals such as printed pigs, cows, sheep, and chickens around the party space. Divide the kids into teams or let them go it alone and then give them a set amount of time to gather the farm animals. The person or team with the most animals wins the game and a prize.

Musical TNT

According to The Spruce, this game is a lot like musical chairs. Instead of taking one chair away, you have an equal number of chairs and players. One of the chairs has a TNT symbol under it. The kid that sits in the TNT chair is out. You remove one of the safe chairs and keep playing until there’s just one player left.

To make the game really tough, switch up the TNT symbol after each round so no one knows where it is.

Minecraft Birthday Food

Game Planet throws a lot Minecraft birthday parties, so it knows a thing or two about Minecraft parties.

When it comes to food, you’re looking for things that are cubed.

  • Watermelon works well because you can cut it into cube shapes.
  • Cheese and meats are also easily cubed and look like items you’ll find within the game.
  • Carrots and apples are staples in Minecraft, so they should be staples at your party too.
  • Pretzel sticks look just like the sticks you see in Minecraft, if you add some orange colored white chocolate to one end, they start to look like the torches in the game.
  • Pop Rocks look just like the rocks and other minerals that you find in Minecraft. You can buy some in bulk here on Amazon.

Minecraft Birthday Drinks

Somewhere along the line, those Minecrafters are going to get thirsty. Don’t stop with the theme and create a Minecraft drink table.

Creeper Drinks

Southern Revivals has a super simple way to turn those average soda bottles into Creeper drinks. All you need is some bottles of Sprite and black construction paper or tape. You can probably do the same thing with bottles of water.

Lava Punch

Another option for those happy Minecraft guests is to offer them Lava Punch. Full Happy Baby and Mommy shows you how to make this awesome looking drink.

Party Punch

If you’re looking for another punch to add to your drink station, Atta Girl Says shows you how to serve up green party punch.

Minecraft Birthday Cake

A birthday cake is a very important piece of the birthday party so of course it has to go along with the Minecraft theme. The really great thing about Minecraft is that it uses a lot of squares, so you don’t need a specially shaped pan to make the cake at home.

Minecraft Cake

Jennifer Maker shows you how to make a Minecraft cake similar to the one in the game. The nice thing is it starts with a box of cake mix and then a few tubs of frosting. In other words, it’s easy to do at home and your kiddo can help!

Grass Block Cake

Eating on a Dime explains how to create a grass block cake from cake mix and frosting. The top is green frosting, but the sides are crushed cereal that looks a lot like dirt. I like the fact that you can use any flavor of cake on the inside.

TNT Cake

Made by a Princess made a square cake and then added some fondant to make it look like a block of TNT. She suggests using a sparkler on top to give it that extra authenticity.

Creeper Cake

You can also go with the classic look. Coolest Birthday Cakes has a complete walkthrough on how to make this Creeper cake.

Minecraft Cake Toppers

If you’re looking for another option, you can always make or buy a regular cake and then put an awesome cake topper on top. This one here on Amazon is an entire Minecraft scene.

If you’re looking for another cake topper option, try the Minecraft Survival Pack. You can find it here on Amazon.

You can also buy Creeper figures. You can find them here on Amazon.

Minecraft Birthday Party Ideas

If you want to go the extra mile with the party, there are a few other things you can do.

Minecraft Party Signs

When you’re setting up the food table, Pretty My Party suggests that you create Minecraft signs for all your food items. Sticks for your pretzels, TNT for your licorice sticks, Ore for your Pop Rocks.

Minecraft Bead Crafts

You can also help the kids create their own Minecraft art with these bead craft ideas. If you need a whole lot of beads for the project, you can find a large pack here on Amazon.

Minecraft Faces

Parties4Ever has probably the best Minecraft idea. Have the party guests use construction paper and make their own Minecraft heads. At the end of the day, take a group photo with everyone holding up their Minecraft self-portraits.
